Inspections for truck wrecks, fires and natural disasters involving food

TruckWreckWeb

The Food Protection Program is responsible for investigating all truck wrecks involving food that originate or end in Kansas City, Mo. The program also responds to all fire investigations and natural disasters that involve establishments that sell food. These inspectors respond to these calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Truck wrecks
With all truck wrecks involving food that was to be sold, a food inspector determines if the food must be discarded or is able to be salvaged. If it is determined that the food must be discarded, the program ensures proper and safe disposal, as well as clean-up, of all food products.

Fires and natural disasters
When a food establishment experiences a fire or natural disaster, the program will respond to these calls and inspect the establishment to determine the need for food disposal and clean up. If food is required to be discarded, the program ensures the food products are disposed of correctly.

If you have questions regarding a truck wreck, fire or natural disaster involving food, please contact the Food Protection Program at (816) 513-6315.
