The Office of Administration provides policy guidance and support services for the Health Department. The Director’s Office establishes department policies, develops strategic plans, provides personnel support, coordinates facility meetings/events and provides workforce development services.
Within the Office of Administration are the Health Commission support staff, the Aim4Peace violence prevention program, the Business Office and HIV Services.
The Business Office is responsible for budgets, accounting, contracts management, medical storeroom and accounts payable/receivables. Facilities Management ensures a safe, clean and friendly facility for our staff, patients and visitors. Information Systems provides technology services.
HIV Services is responsible for managing and administering the Ryan White Title I funds, Title II funds, and HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids), and awarding funds to HIV service agencies through a competitive request for proposal process. The Ryan White Care Act is a federal law that funds services for people living with HIV/AIDS. It provides for HIV services in an eleven-county TGA (Transitional Grant Area) located in and adjacent to the KC metro area. Together with the HIV Prevention and Planning Council programs described below, the programs provide for $4.5 million in funding for programs that serve and support citizens with HIV and with AIDS.
