The Procurement Services Division provides value-added professional procurement service, based on our customers’ requirements and objectives, in a timely, effective, efficient and economical fashion. We strive to be a reliable and competent partner today and tomorrow by upholding the highest of professional and ethical standards.
The Procurement Division and all of its employees adhere to the highest ethical standards. These standards are found in the Division’s Guidebook, the City’s Code of Ordinance, and Code of Ethics of the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council. In addition, all employees attend ethics training courses sponsored by the Kansas City Contract Training Academy and the City’s Human Resources Department.
The Procurement Division is deeply committed to the principles of fairness and honesty in all its work on behalf of the residents of the City of Kansas City.
In 2010, the Procurement Division was presented the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Purchasing Institute.

The Procurement Services Division is located on the first floor of City Hall; the Contract Administration section of the division is on the seventeenth floor. The Mail Center and Print Center are on the lower level of City Hall, and Surplus Management is located at 2600 NE Parvin Road. City Hall is located at 414 East 12th Street, Kansas City, MO, 64106. Office hours are 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday.

Electronic Bid Information The Procurement Services Division has chosen DemandStar by Onvia as the portal we will use to establish an online e-procurement service. Experience has proven that the more bidding opportunities there are for suppliers, the more suppliers will submit bids to an agency. Our goal is to provide as many opportunities as possible to all suppliers who wish to provide goods and services to the City of Kansas City, Mo.
Vendors who subscribe to the DemandStar service will be automatically notified, either by fax or by e-mail, of bidding opportunities for specific commodities and services they have registered for .
