Deputy Chief Donna Maize
The deputy chief of the Special Operations Bureau is responsible for the complete oversight of Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting, Emergency Medical Systems, and the Hazardous Materials Division of the Kansas City, Mo. Fire Department.

Battalion Chief Mark Falder
The chief of HazMat Division supervises and manages operations of the Hazardous Materials Division of the Kansas City Fire Department.

Battalion Chief Matt Mauer
The chief of airport rescue and fire fighting manages the daily operation of the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Division of the Kansas City International and the Wheeler (downtown) airports. He serves as the liaison officer between the Fire Department and the Aviation Department.

Battalion Chief Todd Ackerson
The chief of Rescue Division responds to all technical rescue incidents in addition to supervision of equipment and training. This includes water, high angle and trench specialties.

Battalion Chief James Dean
The chief of Emergency Medical Services serves as liaison with medical director, field battalion chiefs, MAST and EMS interrelated issues. He serves as the EMS sector officer at major incidents.

Captain John Gibson
The rescue training officer responds to all technical rescue incidents as safety officer and reports directly to the chief of the Rescue Division.

FAO Jacquie Risner
The quality assurance/quality improvement coordinator for the EMS Division is responsible for quality control of EMS related issues with department personnel and works directly with the the deputy chief of special operations and chief of EMS.

Tom Seiter, HazMat Chemist
The HazMat chemist performs specialized and complex chemical analysis on hazardous substance encountered by KCFD personnel. He prepares detailed reports on fixed facilities and transportation routes handling hazardous materials.

Captain Bob Hicks
The HazMat training officer instructs the HazMat team members on the use and maintenance of all HazMat equipment. He schedules annual physicals for team members and provides training and maintenance of training records.

FAO Mike Booth
The MMRS coordinator-trainer assist in coordinating the counter-terrorism for the Kansas City metropolitan area. He researches and recommends purchasing of nuclear, biological and chemical response equipment. He serves as a liaison and trainer for local, state and federal agencies.

Captain Steve Marshall
The A.R.F.F. training officer is responsible for the specialized training of aircraft fire fighters at both the Kansas City International and downtown Wheeler airports, and for the maintainance of KCFD training records for the A.R.F.F. Division.
