The City of Kansas City, Mo., Fire Department has fire investigators who determine the cause and origin of fires. They also prepare accurate records regarding fires they have investigated. These investigators work 12-hour rotating shifts, allowing someone to be on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
