Development assistance team
To assist you in preparing your project to meet current city standards and requirements the Development Assistance Team has been created. The team is comprised of representatives from all city departments involved in the development process. Its purpose is to provide you with as much preliminary information about the development of your specific site and project as possible.
The Development Assistance Team meets every Thursday at 10 a.m. in the 15th Floor Conference Room of City Hall. In order for our staff to better prepare for your specific project, see the Preliminary Project Information Sheet. Please fill out as much information about your project as you can at this point in its development. Return it along with 15 copies of a site plan, if available, to the above address at least seven days in advance of your scheduled meeting. Call prior to submitting to insure the time is available.
Because the Development Assistance Team is not a formal review body and was designed to provide you with input about the city’s requirements in advance of formal submittal to the review process, the information given you when meeting with the team should be considered as preliminary. Should the project requirements change prior to formal submittal, staff comments may change accordingly. As submittals are formally reviewed in greater detail, staff may also have additional comments not previously mentioned. Notwithstanding these instances, the Development Assistance Team will strive to furnish you with as straightforward information as possible to help you through the review process. We are confident that the Development Assistance Team, meeting with you at this early stage of your project’s development, will save you time and money by insuring that your project proceeds smoothly through the development process.

Development process requirements
The Development Process Requirements Checklist was created to provide you with a list of the major components of the development process. The checklist can be used by developers and project managers to track the specific requirements which apply to their project. Design professionals can use the checklist to anticipate and track those components of the development process which impact the securing of building and public improvement permits. The checklist also contains date fields so you can calculate the necessary dates needed to accomplish your construction and occupancy deadlines. The checklist is a guide which provides basic development information. It is hoped that the questions and answers derived from the use of this checklist will assist you in the development and tracking of your project through the city’s development process.
