Effective Jan. 14, 2008, the new Kansas City Building and Rehabilitation Code includes the following codes, as amended:
- 2006 International Building Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Residential Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Private Sewage Disposal Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Fuel Gas Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Mechanical Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Energy Conservation Code (ICC)
- 2006 International Existing Building Code (ICC)
- 2005 National Electrical Code (NFPA)
- 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code (IAPMO)
- ASME A17.1-2004 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators with ASME A17.1a-2005 and ASME A17.1S-2005
- ASME A18.1-2003 Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chair Lifts
- ASME A17.3-2005 Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators
- ANSI A10.4-2004 Safety Requirements for Personnel Hoists.
There will be a grace period through April 30, 2008, during which time applications may be based upon either the prior (2003) edition or the 2006 Edition. Starting May 1, 2008, only applications based on the 2006 Edition will be accepted.
