Jomy John, MCP is the division manager of permits for City Planning and Development-Development Services. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Mysore in India in 1988 and has been with CPD-DS (formerly the Department of Codes Administration) since 1996. Prior to joining CPD-DS, Mr. John worked as a project architect at various locations in India and Saudi Arabia. He started as a construction code inspector and was promoted to the position of plans examiner in the plan review division in 1997, serving as a graduate architect until he was promoted to supervisor of the special assignments branch of the Plan Review Division in 2003. Jomy was promoted to his current position as division manager of the Permits Division in 2007 and holds certifications as a certified building official and master code professional from the International Code Council. Mr. John is a member of the Kansas City Metro Chapter of the International Code Council.
