Gary Marker, R.A., division manager of plans review, received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University in 1983. Immediately after college graduation, Gary worked for an architectural firm prior to hiring on with CPD-DS (formerly DCA) as a construction code inspector in March 1984, serving in that capacity until May 1986. In May of 1986, Gary was promoted to the position of plans examiner in the Plans Review Division, serving as a graduate architect until he was promoted to supervisor of Plans Review in June 1990. After achieving his architectural registration in the state of Missouri in April 1991, Gary was promoted to a registered architect in May 1991 and served in that capacity until December 1995, at which time he was promoted to his current position of division manager of Plans Review. Gary is a member of the International Conference of Building Officials and represents the City of Kansas City, Mo., as a voting delegate at annual code change hearings.
