Special Review Districts
Special Review District committee members, appointed by the Mayor, review all modifications to existing development or new construction that is visible from the public right-of-way within established districts. The review process measures a proposal's consistency with a district's guidelines which are established by ordinance. Approval by the SRD committee is necessary before building permits can be issued; their decisions may be appealed before the City Plan Commission. The Citywide Planning Divsion assists the community in establishing an SRD, and also serves as staff to all SRD committees.
Currently, there are three such districts:
