The City Planning and Development Department guides the city's future physical and economic development. We focus on two areas: planning services and development services. In planning services we manage development policy, conduct research, and champion the long-term vision of the city. In development services we issue permits, review plans, and enforce development policy.

• Administration of the Landmarks Ordinance and City Preservation Plan
• Planning, economic and development data collection, research and analysis

URBAN REDEVELOPMENT

• Technical support for economic development incentive programs
• Project management for redevelopment projects
• Property acquisition for redevelopment purposes
• Administration of the City's brownfields program
