2005-2006 annual report available
“City on the Move” is the theme of the 2005-2006 annual report. The annual report provides an overview of significant accomplishments that took place in City departments and service-delivery programs throughout the City. Read the report.

We're on it – still
The City is making significant progress in providing and improving services to residents. Following are some highlights of the City's services delivered from September 2006 to February 2007:

• Received notice that the City’s general obligation bonds rated at AAA by Fitch, AA by Standard & Poor’s, and Aa3 by Moody’s – Fitch’s AAA rating is its highest regarding financial stability
• Processed 30,546 requests for service through the 3-1-1 Action Center
• Closed 25,303 service cases through the 3-1-1 Action Center
• Removed 45,307 tons of trash and collected 9,523 tons of curbside recycling
• Repaired 4,252 potholes
• Repaired 14,837 linear feet of sidewalk
• Added six new non-stop destination flights from KCI
• Distributed 2,000 energy efficient light bulbs.

City sets spring curbside leaf and brush pick-up
The City's spring leaf and brush collection will begin Monday, April 2. Collection will occur according to the area of the city in which you live and your trash day. Place your paper sacks and small bundles on the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of your collection.

Leaf and brush schedule

Residents also may use the City's two leaf and brush drop-off sites from March 17, 2007 through Jan. 12, 2008. The sites are at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway and south of Interstate 470 at 10301 Raytown Road.

2007-2008 budget set for adoption
The City is nearing adoption of the fiscal year 2007-2008 budget. The budget is expected to be adopted Thursday, March 22 during the 3 p.m. City Council legislative session. Read the proposed budget. The adopted budget will be available online in May.

New General Services Department to help efficiency
For greater efficiency and effectiveness of the City’s work force, we created the General Services Department. As of May 1, this department will be responsible for facilities management, security, fleet management, property management, risk management, records management and purchasing.

Agenda KC leadership conference is April 13
The City is holding a leadership conference for people ages 16-35 April 13 at Bartle Hall. Agenda KC: Defining Leadership Strategies consists of a series of workshops aimed at enhancing participants' abilities to be more effective leaders in their workplaces and communities. The registration fee is $25 and the deadline to register is March 23. Registration is open to all high school students, college students and young professionals. Register today.
