Funk’s Front Porch was originally designed as a blog page, but it is “growing up” and using new technologies. We hope you enjoy the view.
On most Fridays the First Lady, Gloria Squitiro, pens a recap of the week in the Funk’s Front Porch Newsletter. With an eye toward transparency and with a personal touch, Gloria connects the Mayor with Kansas City residents.

Contact with the residents of Kansas City is what keeps me grounded. Real people living in the real world know what they want from municipal government. I want to hear how you feel about the issues affecting your neighborhood, your businesses, and your families. I also want to give you an opportunity to ask your Mayor questions. I will do my best to answer some of your questions either on this website or in my newspaper column, Straight Talk with the Mayor.
Good communication is a two-way street. I hope we can keep all lanes open between my office and the people I serve.
