In observance of Labor Day, trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and City of Kansas City, Mo., offices will be closed Monday Sept. 6. The 3-1-1 Action Center, a division of the City Manager's Office, also will be closed for the holiday.
Residents who usually have Monday trash collection will receive this service Tuesday, Sept. 7. Residents who usually have Friday trash collection will receive this service Saturday, Sept. 11.
"For one day each year, we celebrate our nation's history of organized labor, and those who worked to build our country, and who continue to do so," said Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser. "I urge everyone to take a brief break from the cookouts and other celebrations this Monday and reflect on that legacy."
